You may think that I don't have much of a Clew, but I do. That's because they get inspected and stitched as necessary. We were introduced to this novel concept by Lynn and Larry off "Zephyr". Stitching is next to impossible so here I try pushing the needle through with pliers. (Those palm things for needles don't work either). To the right I show the secret, use your electric drill with the needle in the chuck. The needle pushes aside the fabric without cutting it and makes it easy to push the thread through..

Goose Neck problems occur when you are sailing down wind for a long time. Many of the sailors arriving in New Zealand had to have sleeves inserted into fittings to bring back tolerance. Ours was "OK" for now...

 

 

 


Winches need to be serviced before the ratcheting system forgets to grab the drum... Yikes!!! Remember to use  lithium grease for the gears. Oil the pawls.

 

 


Cutter rig - both headsails roller furling. If your staysail is hank, you will never use it. Our standard set in the Caribbean was reefed main and staysail but with both furling we don't hesitate to change the set.
