Run Over in Grenada !!!!

It was June 2000 and Free Radical was anchored in Grenada . My son Brad arrived for a Caribbean adventure aboard our boat. At this time we had been traveling with a group of boats that had come down from George Town Bahamas with us.

We were anchored in Prickley Bay on the south end of Grenada just off Spice Island Marine. Ian off Estoril an Alberg 37 (home port Kingston Ontario), was anchored a few boats over from us.

These were easy lazy days spent swimming and exploring the town & country. Each evening was sundowner beers (2 for $1.50) at the marina bar. Good times with all our friends. Brad was having a blast.

Soon it was time to sail the boat somewhere, so off we went to Carriacou Island about 20 miles east of Grenada. We arrived in time for the regatta there and partook in the celebrations. Meanwhile back in Grenada Ian was left to his own devices.

He had decided to have his friend Joe from Kingston fly down the Grenada and help him move his boat to Trinidad. Joe arrived in fine form and carnival was just beginning on the island. Off to the party they went....  in fine form, until a party crazy Grenadian managed to run poor Ian down with his car. Another group of Grenadians decided to pursue the offender, until Joe pointed out that it may be  a smarter idea to get Ian to the hospital Pronto, which they did. Joe managed to get this photo of Ian just after the incident.

Ian was stitched up and released, and undaunted decided to go back partying the next day. He promptly had his wallet pick pocketed...... not exactly a winning streak.

Ian is now located back in Trinidad & still going to Carnivals.

This is no shit...
