For Cruise Ship
passengers who are visiting Roatan, we are pleased to offer
4-hour charters to the unspoiled east end of the island. The
charter includes transportation to and from the cruise ship
dock, snacks, lunch, all beverages (soda, bottled water, local
beer and spirits) and snorkeling gear.
The 4 hours is
the time you spend on the boat. Our main concern is getting you
back to your ship on time so it may be that your trip is
adjusted to take this into account. This year we had only 2
charters shorter than the 4 hours
The day starts off with a pickup at your cruise ship dock. You
are transported across almost the entire island, which makes for
a nice island tour with pretty views, to the far east end of the
island where the road ends. This is about a 45 minute drive.
Your driver will drop you off in a little village called
Oakridge, where we will be waiting at the dock with the
catamaran and your crew.
Once aboard the boat, we will cast off and set sail to the east,
to the beautiful and unspoiled Port Royal, which has no road
access. This is about a 30 minute trip. We duck outside the
reef, and then back inside protected waters in Port Royal.
We stop at a spot called the Cow and the Calf, a pair of rocky
little islands, where the snorkeling is great. Before you jump in
the water, you are served a snack of local tropical fruit and
homemade peanut butter cookies. Then you swim and play in the water to your
heart's content. We have good, strong young crew who are
excellent swimmers and divers, and you will be safe under their
care.
After snorkeling, you can shower off with our fresh water hot
and cold transom showers and we treat you to a nice lunch, and
beverages service. Guests can lounge in the sun on the
trampolines at the bows, or relax in the shade under the hardtop
and awnings in the large cockpit. When it's time to leave, we
hoist the sails and sail back to Oakridge, where we say our
farewells to our (hopefully!) new friends, and drop you off with
your driver, for the return trip to your ship.
To arrange a booking, we require a 50% deposit, and balance on
the day of the cruise when you board the catamaran. If for any
reason, the cruise ship does not come to Roatan (eg. bad
weather), or if the weather is such that we feel that we cannot
give you a safe and fun trip, your deposit is fully refundable,
right up to the day before the charter.
